Ingredients
•
- 4 family-size Luzianne black tea bags
•
- 1 1/2 cups pure cane sugar
•
- 1 gallon cold filtered water
•
- Fresh ice cubes
•
- Lemon wedges (optional garnish)
Instructions
1
1. Fill large stainless steel pot with cold filtered water. Bring to rolling boil.
2
2. Remove from heat immediately. Drop tea bags into hot water. Allow steeping exactly 3-4 minutes - no longer to prevent bitterness.
3
3. Remove tea bags, gently pressing to extract maximum flavor without squeezing.
4
4. While tea is still piping hot, gradually whisk in pure cane sugar until completely dissolved. Stir continuously to prevent sugar crystallization.
5
5. Transfer tea to glass pitcher. Allow to cool completely at room temperature, approximately 45-60 minutes.
6
6. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, minimum 2 hours.
7
7. Serve over abundant ice cubes. Garnish with optional lemon wedge.
