• 1 pound lean beef brisket (trimmed of visible fat)

• 6 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

• 3 tablespoons coconut sugar (instead of regular sugar)

• 4 cloves garlic, minced
•
• 1 inch ginger, grated

• 2 green onions/scallions
•
• 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil

• 3 cups water
•
• 2 hard-boiled eggs (optional)
